Recap From the past... Paint ball!!

So this was a crazy game of paint ball from last spring 2009. I hope that other families have as much fun together as we do!!! This was an absolute riot!! We had 3 bunkers, 2 teams, and 1 flag, I'm sure you can figure out the rest. I didn't get many posts in with everything we had going on last spring most all of it seems like forever ago. It was the end of last Feb. we had our first IVF consult, started testing in March, and 2 rounds of IVF later, here we are with 91 days until our due date. So you can see how distracted I've been over the past months. I'll have to do a more detailed post about it some other time.

So I've completely fallen of the Blog wagon... But, I've dusted off my hands and knees and I'm climbing back on!!! It might take a few days but I've got a major up date coming... This is little Miss Jersey getting into a bit of trouble (all 68 lbs. of her big puppy self). She seems to be a little too curious... She loves to chase the bugs on the wall in the night time when the outside light is on. All I can figure is that she was trying to get a little closer to the light.

Paintball Madness!!!

We had so much dang fun playing paintball with the scouts. I got to go along because they were one man shy so I went to even out the teams. It was fun as you probably can tell from the slide show. I wish I had some action shots but I wasn't about to give away my position... Not my first rodeo! That's how I ended up shooting Randy in the top of the head, I was well hidden and could hear someone coming... I didn't know who it was but when he popped into sight as he turned toward me I knew it was him or me so.... but, I totally didn't mean to hit him in the head (paintball guns are NOT that accurate it's more of a point and shoot deal)! Kevin got a mean shot to the neck just past his face mask, ouch! That one definitely left a mark. Austin got me good in the back of the leg, I was off with Kevin, he didn't really grasp the concept of be quiet and be still, so we were sitting ducks. Austin snuck up on us from behind at an elevated position and VERY close proximity and shot me in the back of the leg, ouch! He then told me he was so sorry but he was nervous that I was going to see him and shoot him so back to the him or me scenario... All-n-all we had a way fun time it's been a while now so some of the details are a little foggy but I'm sure everyone would totally go again, including me!!

So as you can see Jersey is growing like a weed. She started out smaller that Dafney and now she totally towers over her! Although, Daf is still the big sister and the boss. We get such a kick out of watching the little dog boss the big dog, Dafney knows the house rules and totally makes sure Jersey isn't getting away with breaking any, so funny! I need to get some more current pics. Jersey is almost 20 weeks and weighs 40 lbs. holy molly right! The vet took one look at her feet when she was 12 weeks and his prediction was that she's be 80-85 lbs. we'll see...

The Right Place at the Right Time

We were out at Coral Pink Sand Dunes on Sat. Nov. 1, and had a cool experience. We had been riding a while and stopped a minute,(as we were sitting I was feeling a little uneasy, I'm such a worry wart that I'm thinking to myself are we not meant to be riding on the dunes today should we ride somewhere else or am I just being paranoid?) It was at the time of day that the sun is hitting the sand and you really can't see the contours very well, so you know I felt justified to worry:) But it wasn't a minute later this cute little Oriental man came up from behind me (totally catching me off guard) and asked if I had water. He looked terrible he had been walking the sand dunes alone with no water, food or anything and was exhausted ( I think he must have gotten a little disoriented or lost or something because he still had a ways to go), he sounded so winded he offered to pay me for the water and I told him not to be silly we had plenty to spare, I then offered him something to eat and he quickly said yes, he said he worried that he wouldn't make it back, so I asked him if he would like Jer to give him a ride back to the ranger station and he quickly said yes. He was so cute and his English was quite broken, I'm sure he was older than he looked I would say he was well past 55. So we got him all harnessed in and he was telling us he'd never ridden in anything like the Rhino before. As Jer pulled away with his new passenger all of the sudden I felt such a peace and relief, I think my uneasiness was meant to keep us stopped there so that we could help this cute man. When Jer got back to us he said the man was so grateful that Jer said he was afraid he was going to kiss his feet and the man told him "You save my Life! Thank you so much, You save my Life!" It was so cool to be able to be of service out doing something we love!!

My Super Talented Husband Does it Again!

I have the most talented husband ever. He has started painting weaponry, all kinds. He uses a special paint called Duracoat, which is supposed to be one of the most durable on the market. He has such a talent when it come to using an air brush, it always amazes me. This is just one of the guns he's done, I'll have to round up some other pics. He's done some with deer skulls and oak brush etc...(The cool part is that from a distance the pattern totally looks like camo) I'm so proud of Him!

(I guess this one fits the Oct. Halloween theme, a little creepy? Photos of course don't do it justice.)

Welcome Home Jersey!

So this is our new super cute baby, Jersey! She is almost 6 weeks old. She has been home with us for a few days now and seems to be fitting right in. Dafney has adjusted just fine, few!! She is so smart, she already comes to her new name and knows where to go to do her business, Yea!! She and Dafney love to play and chase and of course being a baby still she sleeps a lot. Dafney loves being the BIG sister (although they are almost the same size), she thinks she pretty tricky jumping up on the back of the couch and teasing Jersey because she can't, boy will Daf be surprised here in a few weeks when she's the little sister.

Dafney's sweet little sister at 2 weeks old!

Dafney is going to be getting a new little sister in the next few weeks. I know does that take your breath away or what? Well don't get to worked up because as you probably see she is another canine not a baby. She's a doberman puppy, but, we have a major problem, we are struggling with a name for her. Jer of course want's something kind of tuff you know to go with her breed, but of course I would like it to be feminine too. Is there such a thing as a tuff feminine name? If anyone has any suggestions we are totally open so send them our way.

We camped here the first night, I wouldn't say slept because I totally didn't, there were to many elk bugling through the night, I loved it, it was so fascinating!

We had another great time archery hunting! Some of us did get a little crazy and back pack up to the tip top of the mountain. I should have known the minute I strapped on my 50 lb. pack and had a gallon of water in each hand that fun wasn't really the word I would be using on this particular adventure, don't get me wrong once we had the hiking part done it was pretty cool. We camped in the thick timber it was so beautiful and it smelled great. The freeze dried food wasn't bad either. The second night it ended up raining cats and dogs and Jer and I got a little wet which took the fun out of things, but what are you going to do. My mom got a chance to draw back on an elk but it saw her and got the heck out of there. But, my dad got a deer!! We had come down the mountain after the rain to dry out and were heading up the canyon the next morning at the crack of dawn when we came upon my Dad and Steve (My sister in laws dad) with a major tire problem. So we continued up the canyon and they headed back to camp, well on there way back the lucky bugger had his chance. Congrats Dad!

We almost got rained in if you can believe it, but we hit a window of non flooding and got the heck out, but there were consequences!!

Well, I guess it's about time I get this show on the road. I'm going to give this entry my best shot, I'm new at this so bear with me. Lately we've been spending a lot of time archery hunting. We have a great time other than waking up at 4 am to get where you've got to be before it gets light. So far there has been a little action just not any meat in the freezer if you know what I mean. My Bro. Josh and I did have a way cool "National Geographic" moment if you will. We had hiked off the back side of this mountain side (the rest of the group was going to ride the ATVs down and meet us at the bottom), as we were almost to the bottom I noticed a smaller buck on the edge of a stand of oak trees. Josh and I got our binos out and were keeping a close eye thinking it would a good buck for my mom once they got down off the mountain, little did we know what we were about to see! We were about 100 yards or so away from the buck when he wandered into the oaks. About 5 mins. later we heard the clatter wheels of he**, we looked up and out of the brush rolled a coyote he tried to stand and was a little tipsy you could tell he'd just had his bell rung, and right behind him on two legs came the deer we'd been watching, the coyote finally gathered his bearings a little and started to hobble off and the deer was hot on his tracks ready to kick his booty again if he hesitated. The coyote would go 10 or 20 yard and stop and then the deer would start to chase him and run him off a little further each time and we watched that for about 5 or 10 minutes, until finally the coyote was out of sight. Once the deer came back he went further into those oak trees and a few minutes later came out with a doe and 2 fawns, you go daddy I thought to myself, they moved a little further down and went back in the trees, but seriously that had to be one of the coolest animals in the wild things I've personally ever witnessed! I've got a few pics but I need to take more time to snap a bunch more next time.
